This website is an independent, unofficial guide published for general information and trip planning. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland, or any other government agency or commercial operator unless explicitly stated.

Outdoor recreation involves risk. Grade 4–5 walks, cliff edges, wet volcanic rock, heat, and variable mobile reception are real here. Mount Coonowrin is a Restricted Access Area — public access is prohibited and on-the-spot fines apply. Camping is not permitted inside this national park. You are responsible for your decisions, fitness, navigation, weather assessment and compliance with park rules. Always verify track status, fees, fire bans and safety information on official Queensland Parks resources.

Content is provided “as is” without warranties of accuracy or completeness. This guide is not professional legal, medical or rescue advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law (and without limiting the Australian Consumer Law), the operators of this site are not liable for loss or injury arising from use of the information here.

Images & photo credits

Place photography on this guide is real photography from Wikimedia Commons, used under the stated Creative Commons terms (CC BY / CC BY-SA). Author, licence and source file are listed below and are also shown in image captions where practical. They are not official Queensland Parks photographs and may not show exact current conditions, track access or facilities. Always rely on Queensland Parks and on-site information for the real place.

Licence short names are as recorded on Commons (for example CC BY-SA 4.0, CC BY 2.0). For full licence text, follow each licence or file link. We adapt images for web display (resize/compress); attribution still applies. The social-share image (og-default.jpg) is a crop of the same Commons file as the home hero (Alandean88, CC BY-SA 4.0) — not a separate photographic work. Header and favicon marks are original SVG diagrams (three volcanic plugs), not photographs.

Stay-page card photos are place-context only — they do not depict specific hotels listed on Booking.com. Occasional diagrams, UI graphics or map embeds (if any) are separate from place photos.
